Hear Jeff's story.

From the start of his journey as a therapist, to the growth of a thriving private practice and a family of his own.

Where I come from.

Since my youth, I felt a genuine desire to see that people are cared for. It wasn't until my early twenties when the realization came about that the field of psychology would be a career of value and meaning to me.

Following my graduation from Kenyon College in 1990, I began to further focus my research and interests, looking to shape a career that would have a significant impact on the lives of others.

From 1992-1996, I attended the Marriage and Family program at Hahnemann University (now Drexel University) in Philadelphia. It was an ideal learning platform in understanding how families function and the complexities and intricacies of systems dynamics. I was fortunate to study under and conduct co-therapy sessions with Dr. Ivan Nagy who pioneered the systemic approach of Contextual Family Therapy.

I was drawn to this modality because it emphasized the concept of equity and fairness within a family system – and is now the foundation of my work today. As my career evolved, this approach to healing greatly assisted in navigating through my work experiences in foster care and adoptions and families who greatly struggle raising children with disabilities. I became fascinated by how individual lives are greatly impacted by their family of origin and it became a passion of mine to join with and assist them in establishing clarity and healing through a collaborative exploration of their story.

I have also been blessed to have a family of my own with my wife and two sons, now ages 20 & 23. The experience of raising a family has allowed me to draw incomparable personal experiences that are very much complimentary with my work. The experiential nature of real life and the struggles we all endure supports a process of being more patient and empathetic toward others.

The “we are all in this together” approach has helped to me connect with others and walking through life with those in suffering. I strive to always lead with this concept: To be authentic and human.
